Spray Tan Tips & Tricks
Before Care
- Exfoliate at least 24 hours in advance with a spa-grade exfoliator. 2-3 days prior is best.
- Shave legs prior to tan; make sure to rinse legs well, so there is no residue from razors moisture strip or leftover shaving cream.
- Cleanse with a ph balanced body wash that won't leave a residue. Avoid moisturizing cleansers or anything that will leave a film.
- DO NOT moisturize after on the day of your tan. Except for your face (especially if you have larger pores), & a hydration serum.
Before Care
- Get nails done before. 1-3 days prior is best.
- All beauty treatments or regiments performed 1-3 days before.
- Remove previous self tanner or spray tan.
- Avoid showering for 12 hours prior. If you have to shower before just a cold rinse.
- No spray tan barriers: deodorant, lotion, perfume, oils, makeup, etc.
- AVOID Dove Soap 72 hours before.
After Care
- Get your blowout after your tan.
- Keep pets, partners, & kids at a distance at least for the first 8 hours. To keep from causing extra heat which can cause moisture.
- After 1st shower use a skin oil before showering to help create a barrier, which protects from heavy metals & chlorine in water that fades tan.
- Pat yourself dry, NEVER RUB.
- You can workout but wait until the tan is fully developed. Be careful with fitbit/watch, make sure band isn't too tight.
After Care
- Wear loose, dark, long sleeves & pants. (Be prepared for weather)
- Wear dark underwear & no bra or strapless bra.
- AVOID products with alcohol, mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, or fragrance.
- Try to use all natural or spray tan specific products.
- AVOID Dove soap until tan is gone.
- Keep your skin moisturized & stay hydrated.
